When award-winning artist Paula Fuga approached me about designing a poster series for her upcoming “Saving My Love” tour, she had a clear vision: she wanted a cohesive look and feel that unified the series while ensuring each poster stood out as unique. Paula, known for her collaborations with Jack Johnson, performances for presidents, and multiple invitations to New York’s renowned Kennedy Center, was adamant about avoiding viewer fatigue—where fans might mistakenly think they’d already seen every tour date or poster.
To achieve this balance, I designed a series of posters that felt like a set but gave each its own distinct personality. By varying design elements across the posters, I ensured they maintained Paula’s signature style while providing fresh visuals for each tour stop.
For her local Hawaiian audiences, Paula asked for something special. I created a slight variation of the tour logo and incorporated more tropical-inspired colors to honor the vibrant spirit of the islands. These subtle adjustments helped connect with her local fans in a meaningful way while keeping the overall aesthetic consistent.
The result is a dynamic series that captures the essence of Paula’s artistry and makes each stop on her tour feel unique.
For her latest project, Gretchen recorded and released three new singles. Gretchen wanted covers inspired by old record album covers. The simple, understated covers feature a portrait of the artist, complimented by simple text… just like the LP covers of yesteryear.
Unlike record albums, her new singles were streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, so we had to create banners as well.
